DIY High Voltage


This project uses a typical flyback transformer from a CRT tv to create high voltages. By taking 9-24v and pulsing two coils, the output can be much higher.

The Build

Below is the schematic of how to wire a flyback transformer the simplest way. The two resistors need to be at least 5W. The power transistor will need to have a heat sink. The primary winding should have around 13 wraps and the secondary winding should have around 7 wraps. These numbers can be tweaked depending on the senareo.
